ALLISON BARKER WEAVER '07

class of 2025

After growing up in the small town of Madisonville, I wanted a change in scenery when I was choosing a college.  I was close with my parents, who were both educators, and wanted to be close enough to visit home. After visiting some community colleges and some bigger universities, Maryville College seemed to be the perfect fit.  It was the right size and really valued educating the whole person. I also loved how close to the mountains and charming campus was when I visited.  I loved the old buildings, small class sizes, and traditions the college had in place.  My four years at Maryville College were some of the most influential of my life.  I met so many wonderful friends that really helped me feel comfortable in my own skin.  I also ran cross country starting my sophomore year and was lucky enough to meet my future husband on the team.  Later on, we formed a great friendship circle of couples from Maryville College that we still hang out with today.  My husband and I also both graduated with degrees in education and have served as local teachers for the past decade.  We have a 7 year old son and love visiting campus to ride bikes or play frisbee golf as a family.  Maryville College will always feel like my home away from home!
