Patrick "Pat" Moyer '86

Class of 2023

Born and raised in Miami, Florida, Pat Moyer came to Maryville College in 1981. While at Maryville he majored in English with a concentration in Writing. He participated for 4 years on the football and baseball teams and wrote for the Highland Echo. He married a Maryville native in 1984, and they recently celebrated their 37th wedding anniversary. Shortly after graduation, Pat took a job in NW Georgia working for American Rug Craftsmen, which was owned by Maryville philanthropist John Thornton.

His business career has taken him to 49 states and 32 countries. He has worked his entire career in the Home Furnishings business primarily in flooring and home textiles. He has held executive leadership roles since the 1990s working as VP of Sales, Executive Vice President, and President of leading companies in Home Furnishings.

It’s been 35 years since he graduated from Maryville College, and during that time something has always drawn him back to the campus nestled in the foothills of the Smokies. In fact, a few years ago, he and his wife Kim purchased their forever home located just 100 steps from campus and are living there full time now.

Pat has been serving on the MC Alumni Board for over 8 years now and has been looking for ways to contribute to the college in a more meaningful way. As his last days serving on the MCAA board approached, Pat still wanted to find ways to serve the college.

He recently learned that there was a possible position to serve on the Blount Count Alumni Board. His history of success in business and the ability to build successful teams that are collaborative, unselfish, and driven to succeed will serve him well in bringing value to the board.
